Pony, MT

Tucked against the eastern foothills of the Tobacco Root Mountains, Pony is a small, peaceful community with deep roots in Montana's mining history. The town sprang up during the 1860s gold rush and took its name from Tecumseth "Pony" Smith, an early local prospector. Today, you can still see that frontier heritage in the weathered brick storefronts, vintage homes, and old mill sites along Broadway, with mountain streams like North Willow Creek flowing right past town.
