Port Barrington is a village in Lake and McHenry counties, Illinois, positioned along the banks of the Fox River. Formerly incorporated in 1969 as Fox River Valley Gardens before renaming in 2002, the waterfront residential community of approximately 1,477 is served by Wauconda Community Unit School District 118 and Barrington School District 220 locally.
