Posen, IL

Posen is a small village in Chicago's south suburbs, bordered by Blue Island, Midlothian, and Harvey. Originally settled in the 1890s by Polish immigrants who named the town after their homeland, the community has kept much of its traditional working-class character. With around 5,600 residents, it is a quiet, compact place where you will find modest single-family homes and bungalows with well-kept yards along a simple street grid.

Commuting is convenient from here, with Interstate 57 running right along the village and Metra rail stations just a short drive away in neighboring towns. Most neighborhood students attend schools in Posen-Robbins District 143. For larger grocery trips, dining, and entertainment, residents take quick drives into Blue Island or Crestwood, giving Posen an affordable, low-key setting with easy access to the rest of the Chicago area.
