About Poston

Poston is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in La Paz County, Arizona, located in the Parker Valley three miles east of the Colorado River. During World War II, Poston served as the site of the Poston War Relocation Center, one of the largest Japanese American internment camps in the United States, where over 17,000 Japanese Americans were held over a three-year period. A monument now stands at the former camp sites to memorialize those who were interned there.
