About Powells Crossroads

Powells Crossroads is a Marion County town in the Sequatchie Valley, centered on the meeting of State Routes 27 and 283. The Sequatchie River runs just east of town, with Whitwell across the river and Chattanooga to the south along the valley’s road network. The town’s name still sounds like the original stopping point it was: a crossroads in a long, narrow Tennessee valley. Powells Crossroads is a small Tennessee place whose map is road, river, valley, and the route through the mountain gap.
