Pueblo Pintado, NM

Pueblo Pintado is a small Navajo community in the high desert of northwestern New Mexico, just east of Chaco Culture National Historical Park. With only a few hundred residents, daily life here largely revolves around the Pueblo Pintado Community School, which draws students from several neighboring settlements and teaches Diné language and cultural traditions. It is a remote, quiet place with vast open horizons, where neighbors stay connected across long stretches of desert and community ties run deep.
