Pump Back, OK

Located in eastern Mayes County, Pump Back is a quiet rural community of about 160 residents, sitting roughly four miles southeast of Salina along State Highway 82. The area spans both sides of Saline Creek in northeastern Oklahoma, positioned between Lake Hudson and the W.R. Holway Reservoir. Local students attend Salina Public Schools, and residents enjoy a relaxed pace of life with plenty of open space and natural scenery.

The community takes its unique name from the Grand River Dam Authority's pumped-storage hydroelectric facility, built in the late 1960s. Living here means having easy access to fishing, boating, and scenic water views throughout the year. For groceries, dining, municipal services, and the local post office, residents make the short drive into neighboring Salina.
