Quasset Lake, CT

Quasset Lake is a small census-designated place around an 88-acre private lake in southeastern Woodstock, Windham County, Connecticut. The water is also called Wappaquasset Pond on federal maps, so both names belong in the local vocabulary. South Woodstock borders the CDP to the east, and the Woodstock Fairgrounds are a few minutes to the west, giving the lake a useful set of nearby bearings.

The Quasset Lake District handles the shared lake setting, while the surrounding Woodstock roads and neighborhoods supply the broader town frame. Boating, fishing, swimming, water skiing, tubing, and kayaking are all part of how the lake is used, but there is no conventional downtown to compete with the shoreline as the center of the place. The Woodstock conservation plan places Wappaquasset Pond in the Mill Brook watershed, adding a practical water-management layer to the recreational map. Think of Quasset Lake as a private lake community with two names, a wooded southeastern Woodstock setting, and a shoreline that does the work of a main street.
