About Quemado

Quemado is a quiet rural community along U.S. Highway 277 in Maverick County, about twenty miles north of Eagle Pass. Located in a green valley near the Rio Grande, the area grew around local cattle ranching and irrigated farming, giving it an open, agricultural feel. With around 160 residents, it offers a peaceful, slow-paced lifestyle with plenty of space, while everyday essentials and city amenities are an easy drive down the highway.
