Quonochontaug is a coastal village and census-designated place in Charlestown, Rhode Island, situated between Ninigret and Quonochontaug salt ponds. Comprising three beach neighborhoods that served as the site of a historic 1880s iron-mining operation managed by Thomas Edison, the community of approximately 610 at the 2020 census is served by the Chariho Regional School District.
