Westerly is the main census-designated community within the town of Westerly in Washington County, Rhode Island. It sits near the state's southwestern corner, close to the Pawcatuck River, Connecticut line, and the beaches that make the larger town a summer destination. The CDP itself is more town center than resort strip, with local services, schools, shops, and older neighborhoods. Westerly works as both an everyday community and a gateway to Watch Hill, Misquamicut, and the Rhode Island shore.
