Ranburne, AL

Ranburne sits near the southeast corner of Cleburne County, close to the Georgia line and within the rolling hill country of east-central Alabama. The town occupies one of the county’s oldest settlement areas, with roots reaching back to about 1814. Before formal town services, the community grew around stores, farms, churches, and roads that connected local families to larger markets. That long settlement history gives Ranburne a different texture from a town created around a single industrial project.

Today Ranburne remains a small Cleburne County town with an outward-looking position: local life follows the roads toward Heflin, the Georgia border, and the wider Atlanta region. Ranburne’s name is less famous than its location, but the town’s strength is precisely that southeastern corner setting, where Alabama foothills meet a state line and the old settlement roads still matter.
