Ranchos de Taos, NM

Located just four miles southwest of Taos, Ranchos de Taos offers a relaxed, historic village atmosphere with classic northern New Mexico character. Founded in 1725, the community is anchored by its historic plaza and the famous San Francisco de Asis Church, whose massive adobe walls were painted by Georgia O'Keeffe and photographed by Ansel Adams. Neighborhoods here feature a mix of traditional adobes, shady cottonwood trees, working acequias, and open valley views.

Ranchos Elementary is located right in the neighborhood, while older students head into Taos for middle and high school.
