Randall, MN

Randall is a Morrison County city in central Minnesota, set along the Little Elk River and U.S. 10 between Little Falls and Motley. The city was platted in 1890 and named for John H. Randall, a railroad official; a post office had already opened in 1889, and incorporation followed in 1900. Highway 115 runs east toward Camp Ripley and the Mississippi, so Randall sits at a crossroads of county-seat errands, military traffic, and river country. The Little Elk has also been part of the town's flood memory, giving the downtown a geographic story that is bigger than its size.

Randall's city departments cover electric, natural gas, water, wastewater, streets, parks, and recreation, with a volunteer fire department filling a central civic role. Dr. S.G. Knight Elementary served local children for generations before the Little Falls district closed it in 2025; students now ride to schools in Little Falls, while the former building remains part of local conversation. Randall's Independence Day celebration brings a parade, petting zoo, fire-department open house, fireworks, a raffle, and a street dance. The town's rhythm comes from the river, the highway, municipal crews, and neighbors who keep the calendar moving.
