Randolph, UT

Randolph is the county seat of Rich County, Utah, laid out in 1870 by settlers led by Randolph H. Stewart with help from Apostle Charles C. Rich. The town sits near the county's geographic center on a high plateau averaging 6,300 feet, between the Bear River country and the Wyoming line. Its municipal classification changed from city to town in 2009, while its county-seat role remained. The 2020 census counted 467 residents, giving the county seat a small population beside its countywide administration, fairgrounds, and library on Main Street.

Today's Randolph combines county administration with a small-town civic calendar. The town publishes planning-and-zoning agendas, town-board minutes, and cemetery information, and the Rich County Library operates at 21 North Main Street. The town calendar also includes the annual Rich County Fair and regular board meetings. High elevation and large seasonal temperature swings shape the setting, while county offices, the library, and Main Street keep civic activity concentrated in the county seat.
