Redgranite got its start in the late 1800s when workers uncovered rich red stone beneath local farmland. The village quickly grew into a bustling boomtown as stonecutters arrived to quarry paving blocks for cities across the Midwest. Over time, the mining era passed, leaving behind a deep, crystal-clear quarry right in the center of town. Today, that old excavation site is a favorite local park for swimming, diving, and summer picnics, giving this quiet central Wisconsin community a unique piece of history right in its backyard.
