Ree Heights, SD

Ree Heights was laid out in 1882 and named for the Arikara people. The Hand County town now sits within a school route that reaches Miller, where the Miller School District serves students from Ree Heights, St. Lawrence, Wessington, and Polo. That shared district connects the small town to a regional campus and to Hand County's wider rural geography, while the original name preserves a direct link to the region's Indigenous history. Ree Heights remains a western Hand County place defined by a short townsite and a broad rural school geography.
