Reno city (Parker and Tarrant Counties), TX

Reno is a Parker County city with a small part in Tarrant County, on the northeastern edge of Parker County near Fort Worth. It sits on FM 1542, about 18 miles northeast of Weatherford, with Reno Road and local streets carrying the city through a mix of older homes, newer subdivisions, churches, and open land. The county-line detail is easy to miss, but it is part of why the Census lists the place as Reno city, Parker and Tarrant Counties. Residents can reach country roads, school events, and the larger North Texas shopping map without leaving the same small-city address.

Settlement began in the early 1880s near Walnut Creek, a post office opened in 1884, and the community first served area farmers through a school and church. Reno incorporated in 1966; Fort Worth's expansion then pushed the small farming place toward bedroom-community growth. City Hall, local parks, schools, and the FM 1542 corridor make up the present map. Reno is a North Texas city with a rural beginning and a regional commute running right through its name.
