Reynolds, IL

Reynolds is a village mainly in Rock Island County, Illinois, with a small portion extending south across the Mercer County line. The 2020 census counted 498 residents. Illinois Route 94 runs through Main Street, leading north toward Taylor Ridge and south toward Aledo. Perryton Street follows the county boundary, so some homes and buildings on its south side sit in Mercer County. Mill Creek begins in the village and runs north toward the Rock River. Rockridge Community Unit School District 300 serves local students.

The village was founded in 1876, and its map still shows the practical way small Illinois places grew: a main road, a county line, a creek, and farm country beyond the houses. The Rock River ties Reynolds to the larger Quad Cities landscape, while Aledo and Rock Island County communities handle nearby shopping and county business. Reynolds is small, but its border is unusually visible in the pavement and property lines. It is a western Illinois village where two counties share a street, a creek heads toward the Rock River, and a local school district connects the surrounding country.
