About Rhome

Rhome is a city in Wise County, northwest of Fort Worth, with a downtown set just east of Veterans Memorial Park. The 2020 census counted 1,630 residents. The town grew around the Fort Worth and Denver City Railway in the early 1880s, and the park's 12-plaque war exhibit gives the local map a substantial memorial corner. Its small downtown and residential streets sit in the open North Texas space between the county seat at Decatur and the Fort Worth edge. Rhome's everyday layout is easy to read: school and homes around the center, park and memorial displays just east, and highway trips toward Fort Worth and Decatur.

Veterans Memorial Park is the place that turns a quick pass through town into a stop with something to look at. The plaques give local families and visitors a shared place to remember military service, while downtown keeps the place from feeling like only a highway address. Rhome is a small Wise County city with a railway-era beginning, a compact center, and a memorial park carrying twelve pieces of local military memory.
