About Rockwell Place

Rockwell Place is an unincorporated census-designated place in Randall County on the east side of Interstate 27, north of the county’s center. Canyon, the county seat, borders it to the south, and Amarillo is north. The place sits at the seam between the Panhandle highway strip and Canyon’s local map, with the 79015 address area and county roads doing much of the orienting. It is a named statistical community rather than a self-governing city, so the surrounding county and nearby Canyon matter as much as the name on the address.

Present-day bearings are straightforward: I-27 is the north-south spine, Canyon is the closest larger town, and Canyon Trails at Buffalo Hill brings more than five miles of single-track and multi-use trails into the same southern Randall County frame. That trail park gives Rockwell Place a recognizable nearby landmark without pretending the CDP has a separate downtown. Picture Panhandle housing and open land organized around the interstate, with Canyon to the south and Amarillo up the road. Rockwell Place is defined by that in-between position—close to the county seat, tied to the regional corridor, and still named as its own Census place.
