Roeland Park is a friendly, compact city in Johnson County, sitting right against the state line. With around 7,000 residents, it has a relaxed neighborhood feel where people walk their dogs, wave from front porches, and gather at spots like R Park or the community center. Most of the homes are well-kept mid-century ranches and bungalows along quiet, shady streets. Originally planned as a streetcar suburb in the early 1900s, the city grew into a convenient home base for commuters heading into Kansas City. You can reach the Country Club Plaza, Westport, or downtown Kansas City in about ten to fifteen minutes. Everyday shopping is right along Roe Boulevard and Shawnee Mission Parkway, so you rarely have to drive far for groceries or dinner. It is a practical, down-to-earth community with great Johnson County services and an easy drive into the city.
