Tucked away at the southern tip of Kent Island, Romancoke offers a peaceful waterfront setting right along the Eastern Bay. Home to fewer than 2,000 residents, the community consists almost entirely of quiet residential streets, waterfront homes, and open water views. Because there is little commercial development at this end of the island, locals make the quick trip up Route 8 into Stevensville or Chester for groceries, daily errands, and dining.

Daily life revolves around the bay, anchored by the county fishing pier at the southern end of the road where neighbors gather to fish, crab, and catch evening sunsets. Families send their children to Queen Anne's County public schools, located just up the island. Like many Chesapeake communities, living here involves watching the tides and planning around seasonal Bay Bridge traffic when heading toward Annapolis or DC. In return, residents enjoy an easygoing, tight-knit environment well away from the hustle of the mainland.
