About Ronan

Ronan is a small city in Lake County on the Flathead Indian Reservation, about 12 miles south of Flathead Lake and beneath the Mission Mountains. The city’s history page says the community began as Spring Creek, a settlement associated with warm springs flowing toward the Flathead River, and was renamed Ronan Springs in 1893. The reservation setting is part of Ronan’s civic and regional context, alongside the agricultural trades and services that the local chamber lists among its community activities. Ronan’s community activity extends beyond the city limits.

The city highlights its park, Garden of the Rockies Museum, Mission Mountain Golf Course, and access to the Mission Mountain Wilderness; the nearby National Bison Range and Ninepipe and Pablo National Wildlife Refuge add wildlife and wetland destinations. The Ronan Chamber describes a network of businesses and residents supporting retail, manufacturing, services, youth, schools, and agricultural trades. Ronan consequently serves as a small community center for the Mission Valley, with recreation and reservation geography present in everyday regional routes.
