Rosita, TX

Rosita is a Maverick County census-designated place just south of Eagle Pass in the Rio Grande border country. The 2020 census counted 3,501 residents. The community was formerly called Rosita South, and the name still shows up in the relationship between the settlement, Rosita Valley Road, and the Kickapoo Traditional Tribe of Texas. The Kickapoo Reservation lies within Rosita, giving the place a tribal and borderlands identity that deserves to be read on its own terms. Rosita is served by Eagle Pass ISD, while Eagle Pass supplies the larger regional services, work routes, and cross-border connections.
