Rossville, KS

Rossville was founded in 1871 on the banks of Cross Creek and named for William W. Ross. Today it sits at the junction of U.S. 24 and Interstate 70 in Shawnee County, close enough to Topeka for the highway to matter in both work and school routines. Main Street, city offices, parks, and small businesses give the place a town center, while the Kaw Valley USD 321 district ties Rossville to a larger rural school network.

The town's civic calendar has a few signatures of its own. Joe Campbell Memorial Stadium has an old grandstand, the community pool and parks carry summer activity, and the Tall Corn Festival brings a yearly gathering to town.
