Round Top, NY

Round Top is a Greene County census-designated place in the Town of Cairo, west of Catskill at the eastern foot of the Catskills. Its post office opened in 1910, giving the hamlet a formal name and a fixed point on the town's rural road map. Round Top is also the name of the isolated hill that rises in Cairo, tying the settlement to the landform beside it. The Round Top Fire Company serves the hamlet, while the Route 23 and Route 32 corridor connects it to the wider town. Round Top is a small mapped place whose story runs through a post office, a firehouse, and the hill that gave the community its name.
