About Rushford Village
Rushford Village is a Fillmore County city that wraps around the separate city of Rushford. It started as Rushford Township in 1858, took its name from Rush Creek, became a village in 1885, and became a city in 1975 after Minnesota changed the rules for villages. That municipal shape is the interesting part: one city surrounding another, with the old township boundaries still visible in the map. Rushford Village is southeast Minnesota in a creek-named, around-the-corner arrangement.
