Rushville, NY

Rushville is a quiet Finger Lakes village tucked into the scenic valley between Canandaigua and Seneca lakes. Home to about 650 residents, the community straddles the border of Ontario and Yates counties, though the dividing line rarely matters during everyday routines. With the West River meandering through town and rolling farmland all around, it offers a relaxed, rural setting rooted in classic upstate New York scenery.

First settled in the early nineteenth century as Federal Hollow, Rushville grew up around a local sawmill and still holds onto its historic small-town character. Residents enjoy a peaceful atmosphere with open skies, friendly neighbors, and plenty of space. It also serves as an easy base for enjoying the wider region, sitting just a short drive from boat launches, farm stands, and the dining and shopping in nearby Canandaigua and Penn Yan.
