Rushville, OH

Rushville is a quiet village of about 300 residents tucked into the rolling landscape of eastern Fairfield County. Founded in 1808 along Zane’s Trace, Ohio’s first major overland route, the community got its start along Little Rush Creek as a bustling stop for stagecoaches and frontier travelers. Before the Civil War, the village also played a role as an Underground Railroad safe haven. Today, that heritage is preserved through a dedicated historical marker and resting places in nearby Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
