About Saginaw
Saginaw is a city and the county seat of Saginaw County, Michigan, situated along the Saginaw River in the central part of the state. Established as a fort following the 1819 Treaty of Saginaw, the city of approximately 43,500 thrived as a major lumber hub throughout the nineteenth century. Saginaw is home to the Japanese Cultural Center and Tea House and fields the junior ice hockey team the Saginaw Spirit, with public education administered by Saginaw City Schools.
