Santa Rosa Valley is a Ventura County census-designated place north of Newbury Park, known for open space, equestrian properties, and wildlife. The area was home to a Chumash village before colonization, and the modern valley still feels more rural than the suburban communities around it. Bobcats, gray foxes, mule deer, and coyotes are part of the local landscape, along with oak-dotted hills and larger homesites. Santa Rosa Valley feels like a residential, semi-rural pocket between Thousand Oaks, Camarillo, and Moorpark.
