About Schroon Lake
Schroon Lake is a small Adirondack community at the southern end of the nine-mile lake that gives the place its name. The lake covers about 4,107 acres, has nearly 24 miles of shoreline, and reaches 152 feet at its deepest point, with public launches at Dock Street, Horicon, and Eagle Point. The town’s resort history took shape in the late 1800s, when hotels and lodges drew summer visitors from the New York region; Scaroon Manor was later built from Taylor’s. Schroon Lake is a shoreline place first: a community, a lake, and a road map built around both.
