Scipio, IN

Scipio is a small, quiet community in northwestern Jennings County. Home to around 200 residents, it offers a relaxed rural setting surrounded by open fields and rolling countryside. State Road 7 runs right through the center of town, giving commuters a quick, direct route northwest into Columbus for major employers and shopping, or southeast into North Vernon for everyday errands. Sand Creek winds along the northern side of town, giving the area a scenic backdrop.

Founded in the 1830s, Scipio holds onto its local history, with the 1886 Scipio Covered Bridge still spanning Sand Creek just off the main road.
