Seymour, IN

Seymour is a Jackson County city in southern Indiana, with history reaching back to land once inhabited by Lenape people displaced westward from the Delaware River valley. The city is also remembered for the 1945 Freeman Field mutiny, a key civil rights episode involving Black Army officers during World War II, and for captured Nazi aircraft once held there. Seymour feels like a crossroads city: rail, highway, industry, older neighborhoods, and a surprisingly consequential wartime history beneath an ordinary Midwestern surface.
