About Scotts

Scotts is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Kalamazoo County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The 2020 census counted 187 residents. The community is located on the boundary between Climax Township and Pavilion Township. Land at Scotts was first deeded to Dan Wheeler in 1835. Scotts's local map joins its older history to the places and landscapes that still shape the town today, all within the wider Michigan setting. The local scoop is how Scotts's history still shows up in the places people visit, work, learn, and meet. Samuel Scott settled here in 1847 and the community became known as Scotts Crossing, later shortened to Scotts.
