About Seabrook Island
Seabrook Island is a barrier island town in Charleston County, South Carolina, situated within the Charleston-North Charleston-Summerville metropolitan area. Explored in 1666 by British navigator Robert Sanford and formerly known as Simmons Island, the community of approximately 2,204 is bounded by the Atlantic Ocean, the North Edisto River, and Bohicket Creek. Public education is administered by the Charleston County School District.
