About Seagoville

Seagoville is a southeastern Dallas County city with a smaller portion extending into Kaufman County, giving it a place on the edge of the Dallas metro rather than in the middle of it. The town was originally laid out as Seago in 1876 by T. K. Seago, and the current name grew from that early settlement. Modern Seagoville is mostly residential and practical, with students split among several school districts and community college service areas. Federal Correctional Institution Seagoville is also a well-known local presence.
