Seama, NM

Seama is a small, quiet village tucked along the Rio San Jose on the western side of Laguna Pueblo. Sitting right at the base of Seama Mesa just south of Interstate 40, the community is surrounded by classic New Mexico high-desert scenery, with red rock bluffs, wide-open skies, and neighboring Pueblo settlements like Acomita and Paraje. With only a few hundred residents, it has the peaceful feel of a rural desert outpost, where the local water tank perched on the hillside serves as the main visual marker welcoming you home.

As one of the six traditional villages that make up the Pueblo of Laguna, Seama offers a strong sense of cultural heritage and close community ties. The valley has connected travelers across the region for centuries, first along historic trade paths and the river, then via the railroad and old Route 66, and now along I-40. Today, local families are served by the Grants-Cibola County school district, and the quick interstate access makes it easy to commute to Grants for everyday errands or head east into Albuquerque for major shopping, dining, and healthcare.
