Seven Points, TX

Seven Points is a lake-era city whose name comes from an intersection where seven roads meet. The community did not grow until Cedar Creek Reservoir was built in the 1960s, then incorporated in the 1970s as homes and businesses spread along the west side of the water. The 2020 census counted 1,370 residents. State Highway 274 runs through town, while East Cedar Creek Parkway and FM 334 carry traffic toward Gun Barrel City and the lake causeway. A small section reaches north into Kaufman County.

Seven Points is mostly a residential community, but the lake gives it an outward-facing daily map. Causeway Marina and nearby boat ramps sit east of town, and Cedar Creek Library, city offices, restaurants, and local businesses line Cedar Creek Parkway. Most students fall within Kemp Independent School District, with portions in Mabank ISD. The city grew from a crossroads beside a reservoir instead of from an older courthouse square, so its strongest local reference points are the road junction, the water, and the short route across the causeway.
