Sherwood, MI

Sherwood is a village in Branch County of the U.S. state of Michigan. The 2020 census counted 285 residents. The village is located within Sherwood Township. The community was originally called Hazenville when it was formed from the farmland of E. That mix gives Sherwood a clear local shape within Michigan, with older layers still visible in current places. The local scoop is a place whose streets, landmarks, and institutions keep its earlier story close to the present. When a post office began operating on March 8, 1833, it was named Durham. The St. Joseph River flows just northwest of the village boundaries. Sherwood includes the St. Joseph River.
