Shively is a home rule-class city in Jefferson County, Kentucky, and a suburb of Louisville within the Louisville Metro government. Located five miles southwest of downtown Louisville, the community of approximately 15,600 developed around a mill and tavern established near Mill Creek in the early nineteenth century. The city lies along Interstate 264 and is served by the Jefferson County Public Schools.
