Sicklerville, NJ

Sicklerville operates at town scale without being a separate municipality. The 17.36-square-mile census-designated place is part of Winslow Township in Camden County, and its parks, public events, and local services therefore carry the township name. The 2020 census counted 45,084 residents. John Sickler founded the settlement in 1851, when the area was still within Gloucester Township, and the Sicklerville post office followed in 1874 with Sickler as its first postmaster. The place name and ZIP Code 08081 preserve that local identity across a community substantially larger than many incorporated South Jersey towns. Much of everyday community activity is visible in Winslow Township's Sicklerville parks. Frank Donio Memorial Park covers 50 acres on Chews Landing Road, combining baseball, football, and soccer fields with a walking path, outdoor fitness equipment, a playground, concession stand, and picnic space.

Ptlm. Daniel Calabrese Memorial Park adds four baseball fields, a fitness path, playgrounds, and a dog park; the township held its annual egg hunt there in March 2026. Larger township traditions draw residents beyond the CDP as well, including Juneteenth and Family Day at New Brooklyn Park and July fireworks at Winslow Township High School in the 2026 calendar. Regional travel is unusually concrete for an unincorporated suburban community. NJ Transit identifies Avandale Park & Ride in Sicklerville as a free-parking departure point for Route 555 express trips directly to Philadelphia during weekday peak hours. Route 551 also stops there on its Philadelphia–Atlantic City run, giving the same lot links in both directions along the South Jersey corridor.
