Silver Star, MT

Silver Star is a tiny, scenic community tucked along Montana Highway 41 in Madison County, roughly halfway between Twin Bridges and Whitehall. Set right along the west bank of the Jefferson River with the rugged Highland Mountains rising to the west, it offers classic Montana scenery and plenty of quiet. The area traces its roots back to an 1860s gold discovery by prospector Green Campbell, and it has maintained its peaceful, rural character ever since.

Life in Silver Star centers on open space, with homes and small ranches spread out along country lanes and riverfront acreage. The Jefferson River provides great trout fishing and floating right in your backyard. Because the community is strictly residential and agricultural, residents make the short drive south to Twin Bridges for K-12 schools, local dining, and daily errands, while Whitehall to the north provides convenient access to Interstate 90.
