About Simpsonville

Simpsonville is a growing city in Greenville County, part of South Carolina's Upstate and the Greenville metro area. It sits southeast of Greenville between Mauldin and Fountain Inn, with Main Street carrying South Carolina Highway 14 through the center of town. Simpsonville was incorporated in 1901 and named for Peter Simpson, a farmer, blacksmith, and local postmaster. Its older civic story still shows up in places like the Burdette Building, Cureton-Huff House, Hopkins Farm, and Simpsonville Baptist Church, all listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
