Snoqualmie Pass, WA

Perched high in the Cascade Mountains along Interstate 90, Snoqualmie Pass is a small alpine community about an hour east of Seattle. Most visitors know it as a winter ski hub, but it also supports a tight-knit year-round population who love life in the mountains. Housing here ranges from classic A-frame chalets and modern cabins to ski-in condos tucked among the trees. Living at the crest offers a peaceful, scenic environment with direct highway access to both the Seattle metro area and Central Washington.

Outdoor recreation is the main draw here, with incredible adventure waiting right outside your doorstep. Residents enjoy winter skiing and snowboarding at The Summit at Snoqualmie, followed by summer hiking along the Pacific Crest Trail, mountain biking, and kayaking on Keechelus Lake. Moving here does require adjusting to real mountain living, including feet of winter snow, seasonal weekend traffic, and occasional pass closures. While a few local eateries and markets handle the essentials, most people make the easy drive down to North Bend or Cle Elum for major grocery shopping.
