Somerset, IN

Perched on the bluffs above Mississinewa Lake in Wabash County, Somerset is a quiet community with a unique local history. In the 1960s, the construction of the Mississinewa Dam meant the original town down in the valley would soon be completely underwater. The residents decided to pack up and move the entire community up to higher ground. Several families actually loaded their houses onto movers and hauled them up the hill, planting their roots in the new neighborhood.

Today, Somerset offers an easygoing, small-town rhythm right next to some of northern Indiana's favorite outdoor spots. Living here gives you immediate access to boat ramps, fishing, and lakeside parks, with scenic water views just down the road.
