About Somerville

Somerville is a historic town and the county seat of Fayette County, Tennessee, situated along the Loosahatchie River within the Memphis metropolitan area. Named to honor War of 1812 officer Lieutenant Robert Somerville and incorporated in 1836, the community of approximately 3,468 is served by the Fayette County Public Schools district for public education.
