About Sonora

Sonora is the county seat and only incorporated city of Tuolumne County, California, situated near Yosemite National Park. Founded by Mexican miners during the California Gold Rush, the historic foothill community of approximately 4,919 is home to the professional Sierra Repertory Theatre and the Tuolumne County Museum. Public education is administered by the Sonora School District.
