South New Castle, PA

Tucked just south of New Castle in Lawrence County, South New Castle is a quiet, established residential pocket with deep roots. For over a century, the community thrived as its own independent borough, complete with its own schools, local services, and close-knit streets. Historic landmarks like the old J. P. Byers building still anchor the neighborhood, with Big Run winding along the lower edge of town.

Although South New Castle officially merged into neighboring Shenango Township in 2026, day-to-day life here remains much the same.
